Eric Kosiuk graduated from pharmacy at UBC in 2013 and decided to extend his education for an additional year by enrolling in UBC’s unique Community Pharmacy Residency Program, out of his desire to do something different and deeper in community settings. His practice sites palliative care, renal units, high-risk communities and even family practice clinics. One of his last sites was Howe Sound Pharmacy, and there, he instantly knew that it was the model of pharmacy in which he wanted to practice full time. Eric moved on to hospital practice two months ago, after 10 years at Howe Sound Pharmacy. He reflected on his time at HSP and today’s discussion: “The pharmacy gave me the opportunity to use the clinical skills I developed over my education to truly improve patient outcomes. I am very excited to discuss how very simple changes in workflow can improve both your pharmacy business and overall health outcomes for your patients.
