Dr. Daniel Burton is a clinical pharmacist and health systems innovator working to expand the
pharmacist's role in chronic disease management. He founded Canada's first pharmacist-led
obesity clinic, developing a model that places pharmacists at the forefront of metabolic health
and medication optimization.
Daniel recently completed a postdoctoral research fellowship at the University of Alberta, where
he served as Principal Investigator of the RxOC-IT Trial, evaluating the outcomes of his model
in community pharmacies, with findings now being prepared for publication. He now works as a
speaker and consultant, training clinicians on integrating obesity management into practice,
while seeing patients part-time and creating evidence-based content on his YouTube channel,
@theofficialdrdan, that translates health science into practical guidance for clinicians and the
public.
