Description

Attention-deficit/hyperactivity disorder (ADHD) is increasingly recognized across the lifespan, yet many patients continue to face barriers to diagnosis, treatment optimization, and ongoing support. Community pharmacists are uniquely positioned to play a critical role in improving ADHD care through medication management, patient education, and collaboration with local healthcare providers.

This interactive one-hour session will explore practical strategies pharmacists can use to support patients with ADHD in everyday practice. Drawing on clinical evidence and real-world practice examples, the session will review ADHD presentation across the lifespan, principles of pharmacotherapy and pharmacokinetics that influence treatment outcomes, and common medication-related challenges encountered in community pharmacy. Participants will also explore ways pharmacists can extend their impact beyond dispensing through community engagement, patient education initiatives, and collaboration with prescribers. Pharmacists will leave with practical tools and ideas to strengthen ADHD care within their practice and communities.
