Kathy Hayward is a pharmacist, Certified Respiratory Educator, Certified Tobacco Educator who has worked in Community pharmacies, Outpatient clinics with specialists and in Primary Care multidisciplinary teams while working with the Alberta Health Services , Calgary COPD & Asthma Program. She currently is at the Calgary Coop Pharmacy Specialty Hub.
A graduate of the University of Saskatchewan, College of Pharmacy she has worked In hospitals and community settings. She finds that being an educator allows her to collaborate with other health care professionals and encourage dialogue with people seeking care in those settings. Within the Outpatient Specialty clinic setting she has been able to use a number of her skills in helping people achieve better outcomes with treatment of Asthma and COPD.
She had the privilege of being a co-author on the CTS Statement Update on Mild and Very Mild Asthma 2021, she has authored articles for pharmacy publications and CE’s. She finds helping other professionals increase their knowledge and skills to help people manage their health conditions. Pharmacists and Licensed Pharmacy Technicians are perfectly positioned to build relationships with people who are being treated for these conditions and greatly improve how their medications help their respiratory condition.
