Betty graduated from the Faculty of Pharmacy and Pharmaceutical Sciences at the University of Alberta and has practiced in retail-based pharmacy for most of her 30+ year career. For well over a decade, she has worked to combine her passions for travel and medicine. Betty has a Foundation in Travel Medicine from the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons (Glasgow). In 2005, Betty successfully challenged the International Society of Travel Medicine “Certificate of Knowledge Examination” and was one of the first pharmacists in Alberta to be “Authorized to Administer Medications by Injection”. As well, Betty has had “Additional Prescribing Authorization” since 2010.

In addition to Go Travel Health Inc., she is an Instructor in the Pharmacy Assistant and Healthcare Career Essentials Programs at SAIT. As well, she co-facilitated the Injection Course for Pharmacists (Calgary) from 2008-2018. Betty has been a member of the Alberta Association of Travel Health Professionals since 1998 and a member of the International Society of Travel Medicine since 2003.
