Susie Jin is a pharmacist, Certified Diabetes Educator, and Certified Fitter of Compression Therapy. Her professional experience includes supporting chronic disease management in a variety of practice settings, including community pharmacy, diabetes education programs and medical offices.

Leadership contributions, such as serving as a member of both Steering Committees for the Diabetes Canada Clinical Practice Guidelines, as well as the Diabetes Canada Dissemination and Implementation Committee, were recognized through 2 national awards: the Charles H. Best Award, given to a healthcare professional who has made a significant difference across Canada towards improving the quality of life of individuals living with diabetes; and the Diabetes Canada Educator of the Year Award.

Susie’s dedication to caring for adiposity-related conditions expand into wound care and skin health where Susie has co-authored Wounds Canada Best Practice Recommendations and currently sits on the Board of Directors at Wounds Canada.

In her personal journey in prevention of type 2 diabetes, Susie credits her neighbours with getting her up each morning for a jog. Although not fast, she has run 5 out of the 6 World Major Marathons, including: New York, Chicago, Berlin, Tokyo & London. Recently, Susie surprised herself having fun participating in an Olympic distance triathlon, proving that you’re never too old to “give it a tri”.
