Between 2016 and 2023, there were almost 45,000 opioid toxicity deaths reported in Canada. Opioid‑related harms have reached crisis levels in Canada, requiring an "all hands on deck” approach with pharmacists being a key partner in care. This session will aim to Increase your understanding of opioid use disorder and the options for the management of this chronic disorder that has severe and devastating consequences for those affected. Pharmacists are ideally positioned to play a vital role in keeping patients safe, and we will explore practical strategies and tools to make a difference in our patients and communities health.
