Educate on safe and effective products for pediatric cough and cold symptoms. Currently, little evidence exists to support the use of cough suppressants and mucolytic agents in managing cough in children. Coughing is an important mechanism for clearing secretions from the airways and can assist in recovery from respiratory infections. Evidence suggests that honey might have a role in treating cough and cold in children. This session will focus on the review of the safety and efficacy of some commonly used natural health products, including honey, for the management of pediatric cough.
