Description

Conflict is a daily reality for most pharmacists, and one of the most cited reasons for stress, burnout, and demoralization of the workforce. Learning to anticipate, manage, and de-escalate conflict can provide pharmacists with tools for enhancing personal and professional satisfaction. This session will review principles of root cause analysis in conflict management which will help pharmacists de-personalize and better manage intense emotional responses to conflict situations. The concept of Conflict Management Styles will be used to support greater self-awareness and reflection of how conflict can be de-escalated and managed more effectively. While conflict can never be eliminated entirely, this session will introduce pharmacists to tools and approaches that will enhance confidence and skills in dealing with difficult situations and people in a more productive and effective manner.
