As pharmacists, you support patients who present with minor ailments or other self-care concerns as part of your everyday role. Minor ailments are defined as health conditions that can be reliably self-diagnosed and managed with self-care strategies and/or minimal treatment. Autonomous prescribing for minor ailments is now within the scope of practice of Ontario pharmacists. This session will focus on optimizing your scope of practice and patient outcomes while supporting evolving models of care delivery that will help reduce the healthcare burden on other sectors. We will explore various strategies, tools, and tips for conducting comprehensive, effective, efficient, and high-quality minor ailment services. The multidimensional, patient-focused approach to minor ailment management covered during this session will propel your practice forward.
